The global population of crypto millionaires has jumped sharply in 2025, rising 40% to 241,700 according to Henley & Partners’ latest Crypto Wealth Report. Bitcoin continues to dominate the sector, fueling most of the gains and reshaping the perception of digital assets as a long-term wealth foundation.

Bitcoin leads millionaire growth

The number of crypto millionaires reached 241,700 in 2025, with Bitcoin millionaires driving most of the growth.

Bitcoin remains the powerhouse of crypto wealth, accounting for nearly 60% of all crypto millionaires worldwide. Over the past year, the number of Bitcoin millionaires surged 70%, marking the most significant increase among all digital assets. The report also identified 36 crypto billionaires, 17 of whom owe their fortunes primarily to Bitcoin, representing a 55% annual increase.

In addition, there are now 450 crypto centimillionaires holding more than $100 million each, underscoring the asset’s ability to generate large-scale fortunes even as global adoption grew just 5% to 590 million users. Despite the rising numbers, crypto millionaires still represent only 0.4% of the world’s estimated 60 million millionaires.

2025 marks a turning point for institutional adoption

Henley described 2025 as a “watershed year for institutional adoption,” as major financial firms and corporations expanded their exposure to cryptocurrencies. Spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States grew from $37.3 billion in inflows to $60.6 billion this year, while Ether ETFs skyrocketed fourfold to $13.4 billion.

Investment advisers, hedge funds, brokerages, and private equity firms have all played a role in this surge. Advisers alone now hold $1.35 billion in crypto ETFs, while hedge funds control $688 million. The rapid increase reflects growing confidence that digital assets are becoming an integral part of the financial system.

Philipp Baumann, founder of Z22 Technologies, noted that Bitcoin is no longer viewed solely as a speculative asset. Instead, it is increasingly recognized as a “base currency for accumulating wealth,” signaling a shift toward Bitcoin as the foundation of a parallel financial system.

Global hubs and regulatory leaders emerge

The report also ranked the most attractive destinations for wealthy crypto investors. Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States emerged as leading hubs, each excelling in different categories: U.S. in public adoption, Hong Kong in infrastructure, and Singapore in innovation.

Australia and Singapore stood out as the most favorable jurisdictions for regulation, while Monaco and the UAE offered the strongest tax benefits. Malta, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Thailand were also ranked highly for their balanced regulatory and innovation ecosystems.

Panama is also a promising emerging hub, attracting attention for its growing openness to crypto innovation and favorable positioning as a bridge between Latin America and global financial markets.
